CLARITY ?
The distractions we seek unwittingly or by full abandon are not spurious endeavors. They are the evidence of our own suffering. Many seem to come to the point of recognizing this suffering, looking for answers. This is not wrong. It is not perfect though. In the truest sense of the word perfect, we seek something ideal and have missed the intention of such a word as “perfect.” There is no perfect in the sense that we are seeking. We want no pain, no hurt, no violence, and the vast list of negatives that are easily named which carry the weight of evil and bad, that fail to promote life. This is not wrong either. But if we want “perfect”, we sleight ourselves and it is yet another distraction. (read more?…)

The distractions we seek unwittingly or by full abandon are not spurious endeavors. They bE the evidence of our own suffering. Many come to the point of recognizing, looking for answers. Not wrong but not “perfect.” We seek something ideal and have missed the intention of “perfect.” There is no perfect in the sense that we are seeking. We want no pain, no hurt, no violence, and the vast list of negatives that are aPTly named which carry the weight of evil and bad, that fail to promote life. This is not wrong either. The pursuit to understand should be welcomed and congratulated for any being toward awareness. It is awesome and terrifying. For that sight to even take root is a miracle.
The greater miracle lies beyond this when we see the “solutions” for what they are. They are only facsimiles at best for any real change or truth that we might arrive at. The need is to embrace the reality that we are surrounded in and to see it for what it is. These times are not greater by the technological advances. Nor is it the death defying attempts to further the longevity and the quality of life. No one escapes death. It is the solid fact we all face. Some find it sooner than others; we all go through that door.
There’s no solid statement as to what comes next, if anything, for to say such is a swoon notion based on the fact of uncertainty.
If we want to drill down further, to get at the root that is offered, it will take thinking beyond our mere existence in context of what seems to be futile (to many who have said it is.) It is also not full of meaning, just because another says it conversely.
Take the moment you are in. Recognize where you are at, in perception. In the void of this space of time, there is an opportunity to speak truthfully, if at all, and then to embody what is said. To be anything less is to not be a person, or one’s own self. This is authenticity.
To say someone else is messed up, is a distraction from the sheer opportunity to look at one’s own person… to see that things we despise and abhor… the leaning of a mind toward inaction, abuse, subjugation, lies, theft, murder… the things we see that take away life and living well… we may be complicit in the most minuscule of ways. It could be that there is higher degree of complicity in the engagement of such… but it isn’t a contest or an argument to be qualified to take measure and pronounce degrees of depravity. We can scoff and point fingers at others all too easily and we are creating a distraction in that act. What we each have to do is much harder than many of us are willing.
It would seem that the uncomfortable-ness of this existence would propel a person to rid themselves of humanity or to rid humanity of their own personhood.
What answer is found in such? It is unknown if that makes even a difference, albeit at best a relief… to someone or many. The suffering seems to end from that action… maybe. Who knows?
It is a place more folk than we realize get to. It doesn’t have to be.
What is the aspirational cry of hope for this? It is no wonder that all creep in the despair of even this cold query and their many cousins. We need help badly. But here’s a reality we don’t consider. I mean to say reality… to realize… to create and make real… not to glance at the surrounding context we are “IN”… from distance of our own presence. Have we ventured to create anew a viewpoint that would allow one and many to truly progress out of the mire? Or are we chewing our cud?
I’m not here announcing that any one or the many should pledge themselves to a religion/party or to despise one. Join? What? The human race? Longstanding member, thanks.
I’m not here to complain about lack or scarcity of viable options. It is only to suggest/remind that we can go down deeper than any of those present options. When we climb on board for any ideology that promises some restitution of solution to the world’s woes, we are accepting another person or persons as having some special idea that claims a dynamic lodestar that will illuminate and allow solving everything ultimately.
The more honest (unskilled) ones will present their flaws earlier and the more riddled ones will keep acolytes until they die along with seared allegiance by their progeny and associations in entirety.
But I’m not judging. It just how it appears to the protocynic filter.
It comes down to recognizing that this has been announced many times throughout the ages of our known existence. It is something that permeates way beyond what we would want to accept. Consider that we have individually, limited, wronged, and hobbled our selves and others. The next step is to see that we have not loved our self nor others. Perfectly… that word again…
— — which should be simply “progression, juuust-right_ness and maturity”. Language may be shaped by the crest of tomorrow but there’s no paper tiger to fight if one seeks ancient etymologies. Get to the root, be radical, find out where that chunk of word came from… What 1200 year trace to first expression is better suited to share now? Did the midnight sky burn hazier than now? Was observation scarce? Maes Howe a folly? The notion that old is outdated and the new is an upgrade… farce. “What do you want to say and what’s the best way to say it?” Afford yourself that luxury and miss out on overuse. We’ve got these notions of language holding us prisoner too. — —
… perfect? Flawless living?!? How is that possible? We each commit and omit in some manner to this world and its ongoing state. This isn’t to announce that there is a “right way”, but rather to just say we all should pull our heads out of our own asses and others’. We don’t own a share of the market so as to say how things should go. That includes me, I’m only pointing out what others have seen for eons. It holds no power in stating it, only in imbibing it for the individual. Then… do what is desired deeply to do with your life. Each moment yields new opportunity. And with each self-distraction… there is a closing of that moment with negative result. How will we spend our moments???
We do hold a choice of who we will be at every breath we take. To recognize this and to admit, in the least, to our most private self: what we are and our complicity in some aspect of destruction. THE collective does it and each individual. There is no real escaping this. In short, iF by ignorance or by complicity, we run from guilt through all manner of distraction. But if we were to admit and take responsibility, isn’t that gasp for air out of choppy waves what we are offered to change?
We are presented with the fact of who we are (we don’t need humanity for the example except as a mirror). This should motivate us… we look into the pool of water, reflect, take draughts of and clean if we will it. It is too hard some say… because it’s different. Maybe we ignore it. It isn’t a single moment that turns us into what we will be here and forever… but it is a series of stacking moments that evince what we are and how we might become. CONSISTENCY. Not solely out of our own over dredged willpower, but as a reservoir of plenty, given as recipients of life… this spark that is undeniably a motivational force that evinces in our shared existences.
We want change, that change begins in us. It is such a cliche notion, but has it been considered? practiced? Have we invested even a modicum of our given time in existence toward this? AND then the harder truth: What if I find out I need to change? Consider yourself fortunate to opT taking this gift and using it for every moment Remaining.
Create that change in yourself and be thankful it is available.
