CLARITY ?
The distractions we seek unwittingly or by full abandon are not spurious endeavors. They are the evidence of our own suffering. Many seem to come to the point of recognizing this suffering, looking for answers. This is not wrong. It is not perfect though. In the truest sense of the word perfect, we seek something ideal and have missed the intention of such a word as “perfect.” There is no perfect in the sense that we are seeking. We want no pain, no hurt, no violence, and the vast list of negatives that are easily named which carry the weight of evil and bad, that fail to promote life. This is not wrong either. But if we want “perfect”, we sleight ourselves and it is yet another distraction. (read more?…)

The distractions we seek unwittingly or by full abandon are not spurious endeavors. They are the evidence of our own suffering. In the truest sense of the word perfect, we seek something ideal and have missed the intention of such a word as “perfect.” There is no perfect in the sense that we are seeking. The pursuit to understand should be welcomed and congratulated for any being that has arrived at that awareness. It is awesome and it is terrifying. For that sight to even take root is a miracle. The greater miracle lies beyond this when we see the “solutions” for what they are. They are only facsimiles at best for any real change or truth that we might arrive at. What needs to be now done is to embrace the reality that we are surrounded in and to see it for what it is. These times are not greater by the technological advances our species has progressed into. Nor is it the death defying elements that further the longevity and the quality of life. No one escapes death. It is the solid fact we all face. Some find it sooner than others, and it is not for anyone of us to say that it was too soon or too far off. We all go through that door. There will be no statement as to what comes next, if anything, for to say such is a pumped up notion based on the fact of uncertainty.
If we want to drill down further, to get at the root that is offered, it will take thinking beyond our mere existence in context of what seems to be futile to many who have said it is. It is also not full of meaning, just because another say it inversely. Take the moment you are in. Recognize where you are at, in perception. In the void of this space of time, there is a need to speak truthfully, if at all, and then to be an active participant in being what is said. To be anything less is to not be a person, or one’s own self. This is authenticity. To look elsewhere is to be distracted. To say someone else is messed up, is to not take hold of the sheer magnitude of having the opportunity to look at one’s own person... to see that things we despise and abhor... genocide, abuse, subjugation, lies, theft, murder... the things we see that take away life and living well... we all are complicit in the most minuscule of ways. It could be that there is more complicity to be further engaged in such... but it isn’t a contest or an argument to be qualified to take measure and pronounce degrees of depravity. We can scoff and point fingers at others all to easily and we are creating a distraction in that act. What we each have to do is much harder than many of us are willing to do.
It would seem that the uncomfortable-ness of this existence would propel a person to rid themselves of humanity or the inverse, to rid humanity of their personhood. What answer is found in such? It is unknown if that makes even a difference, albeit at best a relief... to someone or many. The suffering seems to end from that action. I can’t even be as bold to say that. The religions warn of such and some even promote it. Political stances espouse their own brand of religion and there isn’t a difference when getting that unveiled... it is a stance taken in the self-made ideas that there is a proper way to view the world and to treat others and even how to self-treat. It is boggling. That is the ultimate reality we’ve made... it gets boggling because we want an answer but nothing fits the scope or the varied nuances that are so infinitesimal. We cannot even agree on the finite... let alone the infinite. It seems absurd to participate in any of it once you see the bare-boned nature of it all.
What is aspirational at this point? The cry of hope? It is no wonder that all try to find something in the despair of even this cold fact and their cousins. We need help badly. But here’s a reality we don’t consider. I mean to say reality... to realize... to create and make real... not to glance at the surrounding context we are having from the exterior of our own perception from the sockets in our supposed head. I mean have we ventured to create anew a viewpoint that would allow one and many to truly progress out of the mire?
I’m not here announcing that any one or the many should pledge themselves to a religion or to despise one. I’m not here to argue this point... only that we can go down deeper than any of those options. When we climb on board for any ideology that promises some restitution of solution to the world’s woes, we are accepting another person or persons as having some special idea that will erupt a dynamic lodestar that will solve everything ultimately. The more honest ones will present their flaws earlier and the more riddled ones will keep acolytes until they die along with their progeny and associations in entirety.
It comes down to recognizing that this has been announced many times throughout the ages of our known existence. It is something that permeates way beyond what we would want to accept. Consider that we have individually wronged our selves and others. The next step is to see that we have not loved our self nor others. Perfectly... that word again... which should be simply “in maturity”. We’ve got these notions of language holding us prisoner too. Flawless living?!? How is that possible? We each contribute commission and omission in some manner to this world and its ongoing state. This isn’t to announce that there is a “right way”, but rather to just say we all should pull our heads out of our own asses and others’. We don’t own a share of the market so as to say how things should go. That includes me, I’m only pointing out what others have have seen for eons. It holds no power in stating it, only in imbibing it for the individual. Then... do what is desired deeply to do with my own life. Each moment yields new opportunity. And with each self-distraction... there is a closing of that moment with negative result. How will we spend our moments???
We do hold that choice of who we will be at every breath we take. To recognize this and to admit, in the least, to our most private self what we are and our own complicity in some aspect of destruction. Each collective group does it and each individual. There is no real escaping this. In short, we run from guilt through all manner of distraction. But if were to admit and take responsibility, then we are offered that change. We are presented with the fact of who we are (we don’t need humanity for the example except as a mirror). This should motivate us... we look into the pool of water and can come clean if we will enter it. It is too hard some say... and it is because it isn’t a single moment that turns us into what we will be here and forever... but it is a series of stacking moments that evince what we are and how we might become. Not solely out of our own willpower, but as what we each have been given as recipients of life and this spark that is undeniably a motivational force that our shared existence experiences. We want change, that change begins in us. It is such a cliche notion, but has it been considered? Have we invested even a modicum of our given time in existence toward this? AND then the harder truth to live out and forward is taking this gift and use it for every moment we are given. Create that change and be thankful it is available.
